Winter Training Camp January 2012
Welcome to the Momentum Endurance Winter Training Camp! Dates are set for the 17th -22nd of January 2012. Join us for five days & nights for a cycling experience in the Sonoran Desert of Tucson, Arizona.
THE CAMP:
Designed to take advantage of Tucson’s marvelous sunshine and pleasant wintertime temperatures, this training camp will offer road rides that are planned to boost your foundation for the 2012 season. Momentum Endurance coaches Travis Woodruff and Brian Matter are excited to share their training knowledge and expertise with you while enjoying Tucson’s best training routes. This camp will offer ample time for Q&A along with real time guidance and feedback while on the roads. Each ride will offer specific training instruction so that you can learn the essential components of building a strong base level fitness. You will experience some of Tucson’s best accommodations, cuisine, and scenery to complement the first-class riding and coaching. Travis & Brian will each present upon topics that are applicable to your goals - topics may cover training, racing, equipment, nutrition, lifestyle or effective goal setting. If there’s a topic that you’d like to have covered, simply let us know so that we can include it in one of our evening discussions. The camp will be limited to a maximum of ten athletes.
THE HOUSING:
You will be staying in one of Tucson’s finest bed & breakfasts in the northeast corner of town, just minutes away from the base of Mount Lemmon. The location is ideal for riding and you’ll enjoy the comfortable desert setting. Nestled in the shadows on the Catalina Mountains you are virtually guaranteed mesmerizing sunsets and, if you are lucky, some local wildlife too!
Amenities include: wireless internet, pool, hot tub, vcr/dvd, laundry, refrigerator, and secure bike storage.
THE FOOD:
Your fully prepared breakfast will be served restaurant style and feature artfully prepared fresh fruit selections and a daily entree. Sample menus include puff pancakes with prickly pear cactus lemon syrup and yogurt with home baked granola; southwest potato and pepper saute with cinnamon crunch whole wheat toast; or deep pocket waffles with ginger peach glaze and ham…the list goes on. Beverage selections include, coffee, teas, juice, or milk.
The breakfast meals will have you well fueled for the training that we’ll do each day. Lunches will be provided from local area restaurants to ensure quality recovery. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.
A final dinner will be provided on Saturday evening to celebrate a successful camp. Other dinners will be open to the individual so they can have their own Tucson adventures.
Nutrition during the rides will be provided by Clif Bar. Clif Bar’s, Blok’s, Shot’s and drink mix will help to keep you going strong.
THE RIDING:
There is a good reason that Travis lives in Tucson and why Brian returns every winter since he started his professional career here. Tucson offers some of the best road and mountain biking in the world from December through March. Come join us to soak in the scenery of Saguaro National Park, conquer Colossal Caves, and master the 25 mile climb up Mount Lemmon. You won’t be disappointed.
THE PRICE & PAYMENT:
$1495
Rates are based on double occupancy. Please let us know if you would like your own room at an additional $375. A $500 down payment will secure your spot and the remaining balance will be due one week prior to your arrival. Click here and sign up today.
THE DETAILS:
Camp attendees are encouraged to arrive Tuesday, January 17th in the afternoon depart Sunday January 22nd in the afternoon. One huge advantage of the small sized camp is the flexibility of travel.
Airport pick up and drop off will be provided, however ground transportation is otherwise not provided.
A mechanic will be on staff to assemble and maintain your bike for the duration of the training camp. We recommend shipping your bike in advance in order to make the travel as stress free as possible.
